Who we are
Blake McGrath Mentorship (the “App”) is operated by Cogni Strategy (“we”, “us”). We provide a private mentorship platform where students upload dance videos for review by mentors and connect with the broader Blake McGrath community.
What we collect
- Account information you give us: name, email, date of birth, dance experience level, and the invite code used to join.
- Content you submit: videos, photos, captions, comments, and messages.
- Usage data: app crashes, performance, and basic device info needed to keep the app working.
- Subscription and payment status: we receive a confirmation from the App Store; we do not see your card number.
- For users under 13: a parent or guardian email is required and we obtain verifiable parental consent before account activation.
How we use it
- To run the app: deliver videos to your assigned mentor, post to the feed and discussions, and send notifications you've opted in to.
- To keep the community safe: review reports, hide content that violates our guidelines, and suspend accounts when needed.
- To improve the product: aggregated usage and crash data, never tied back to identifiable accounts in reports.
- To contact you about your account, billing, or important service changes.
Who we share with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run the App:
- Supabase (database, auth, storage) — hosts your account and content.
- Apple — handles billing for in-app subscriptions.
- Resend — sends transactional emails (invites, alerts).
- Expo / EAS — handles app delivery and crash reports.
We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising.
Your videos and posts
Weekly submissions are private to you, your assigned mentor, your linked parent (if any), and our admin team. Posts you mark as public, posts you make to the public feed, and discussion posts are visible to other authenticated members of the App.
Your rights
- Access & correction: view and edit your profile from the app at any time.
- Delete your account: from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, videos, comments, and reactions within 30 days.
- Block other users: from any profile or post; manage from Settings → Blocked users.
- Export your data: email us at the address below and we'll send your records within 30 days.
Children's privacy
We follow COPPA. Users under 13 must have a parent or guardian consent during signup. Parents can review or delete their child's data at any time by contacting us.
Changes to this policy
We'll let you know in-app or by email before any material change. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent update.
